Professor Daniel Kallós
Umeå University (Sweden)

Daniel Kallós (born 1937) is professor in Education (in Swedish ´pedagogik´), at Umeå University since 1986. He retired in 2002. He worked at Lund University between 1959-1986. Daniel Kallós was chairman of the Board of Teacher Education and Research in Umeå and the first Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Education, Umeå University established in 2000. Daniel Kallós has been coordinator of the European Network on Teacher Education (TNTEE) and headed the EDIL-project (European Doctorate in Teacher Education and Teaching). Daniel Kallós is head of the board of the Swedish National Graduate School in Teacher Education and Teacher Work (2001---). He is a member of European Commission Expert Group A – Improving education of teachers and trainers, which is one of the groups working in the framework of the community follow-up of the Process of the Common Objectives of the Education and Training Systems, initiated with the Lisbon strategy.

He is or has been a member of the editorial board of several international journals in education e.g. Review of Educational Research, Journal of Education for Teaching, Asia Pacific Journal of Teacher Education & Development, Curriculum and Teaching, Qualitative Research and the electronically published Education Policy Analysis Archives.
